Community guidelines
UnofficialPoll is built for honest, unfiltered opinion — not for harm. These rules apply to poll questions, options, descriptions, tags and comments.
What's welcome
- Clear, specific questions people can actually answer.
- Balanced options that give every side a fair shot.
- Opinions, debates and hot takes — including unpopular ones.
- Light-hearted, playful and provocative questions.
What's not allowed
- Harassment, bullying or targeting a private individual.
- Hate speech or dehumanising content about protected groups.
- Illegal content, or encouragement of illegal or dangerous acts.
- Sexual content involving minors, or any content aimed at under-18s.
- Private or identifying information about anyone (doxxing).
- Medical, legal or financial instructions presented as advice.
- Misinformation framed as verified fact, or fake official results.
- Spam, scams, impersonation or vote manipulation.
Review before publication
Community-submitted polls go into a moderation queue and are reviewed by our team before they appear publicly. Sensitive topics get extra scrutiny, and some are declined outright. If a poll is rejected you'll see the reason on your My polls page.
Reporting
Every published poll has a Report button. Pick a reason, add context, and it goes straight to the moderation queue. We review reports in order of severity and may pause, edit or remove a poll, and restrict repeat offenders.
Enforcement
Depending on severity we may decline a poll, remove published content, restrict poll creation, or suspend an account. Serious or repeated breaches lead to permanent removal. Decisions can be appealed by contacting moderation.
